What can you expect AS A WOMEN’S THERAPY CLIENT?
getting started…
Each of our sessions will be 50 minutes. During our first one to two sessions, we will create your specific therapeutic goals and craft your treatment plan. In our subsequent sessions, we will work collaboratively to achieve your unique and specific results one by one and look at what shows up in your life each week.
Between sessions, I may invite you to experience “play-work,” so you can integrate and build upon our sessions in your everyday life. (Rather than boring homework from childhood days, I like to encourage this type of work to be fun and enjoyable.) “Play-work” includes things like filling out worksheets, watching movies, reading books, practicing art or meditation, and doing exercises either alone or with your partner.
Many new clients say that “play-work” is fun and informative and they get to practice what they learned during our therapy sessions in the real world. In addition, clients report that they get the opportunity to see and feel themselves shifting, changing, and growing. New clients also share that become more aware of how their actions and reactions impact other people, as well as their own lives and relationships.
Together, we’ll work through achieving each of your goals. And you’ll tell me when it’s time for you to “graduate” or end our therapy sessions together. I am a client-centered therapist, meaning, new clients actively take the reins during each therapy session, while I am mainly a guide or a source of support for you as the client. You’ll know what it’s time to end your therapy sessions because many of the goals that you set in our first two sessions will be achieved, or on their way to being fulfilled.
You’ll know it. You’ll feel it. You’ll be living it.
Before Your First Session.
Here Are The Details…
Rest assured, I will provide you with a separate link to your secure and confidential online portal. This will allow us to start off on the right foot and make the most of our time together.
Remember, completing all the Intake paperwork at least 48 hours before our scheduled session is crucial. By doing so, we can arrive fully prepared, dedicating more time to therapy and reducing the paperwork hassle. In the unlikely event that the Intake paperwork is not completed within the provided timeframe, we might need to reschedule our initial session.
To make things convenient for you, all our sessions will take place online using my secure video platform. I will email you the link before our first session, and all subsequent sessions will be conducted on this platform. So please bookmark the link for easy access in the future.
I also want to inform you that all therapy, counseling, and coaching sessions typically last around 50 minutes. The initial one to two sessions for new clients usually involve the Intake process, where we gather important information to tailor our approach to your needs.
Our sessions are typically scheduled weekly unless we have made alternative arrangements together.
If you ever have any questions or concerns or would like to clarify anything prior to our first session, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m here to provide support and ensure you have a seamless transition into therapy. Your comfort and well-being as a new women’s therapy client are my top priorities.
Feel free to contact me with any inquiries you may have.
